U.S. covert action in Kandahar called key to offensive against Taliban
U.S. special operations forces are working behind the scenes in Kandahar to covertly knock out Taliban terrorist cells and networks of insurgents in the key stronghold city of 500,000 people, according to military intelligence officials.
The operations include hundreds of Army special forces units and Navy SEALs, including the elite Delta Force, the Army’s ultra-secret commando unit.
