Report: U.S. seeking Russian special operations help in Afghanistans
Russia’s GRU spetsnaz special operations forces are considering a request from the U.S. military to conduct joint training with U.S. special operations forces in a Central Asian state, according to a recent Russian press report.
The Argumenty Nedeli Online, a publication begun by journalists whose reports are often critical of the Moscow government, reported that the Russian general staff is considering the joint training request that would involve exercises in a Central Asian state that would resemble the harsh terrain in Afghanistan.
