Commission challenges Obama defense plan, calls for Pacific buildup
An independent blue-ribbon commission last week challenged the Obama administration’s defense planning and, in a review of the Defense Department’s 2010 Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR), said the current Pentagon is focused too much on the short term and is not preparing to modernize and build up U.S. forces to confront future threats.
