Beneath rejection rhetoric, Arabs said to see Israel as security partner
WASHINGTON — Arab states have come to see Israel as a security partner in countering the threat from neighboring Iran, a senior member of Congress said.
Rep. Gary Ackerman, chairman of the House Subcommittee on the Middle East and South Asia, asserted that not one Arab leader regarded Israel as a threat. Instead, Ackerman said, Arab leaders, despite their public stance, regard Israel as a bulwark against Iranian expansionism in the Middle East.
