U.S. Mideast policy faulted as PR ploy that ignores role of religion
WASHINGTON — The United States has been warned against ignoring the religious motivation of Al Qaida and its supporters.
A report by the Washington Institute for Near East Policy has asserted that the new national security strategy of President Barack Obama was denying the religious motivation of Islamic insurgents. The report said this prevented an understanding of how to respond to Al Qaida and its doctrine of jihad, or holy war.
