ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates has overseen the purchase of a leading European shipyard.
The UAE's Abu Dhabi MAR has signed a contract to purchase Germany's Blohm + Voss, a unit of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems. The acquisition was expected to provide the UAE with significant Western technology for its growing navy.
