A senior U.S. official said last week that there are signs North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il will visit China in the coming weeks.
Assistant Secretary of State for East Asia Kurt Campbell told reporters on April 13 that reports of Kim’s visit were speculation.
Campbell noted, however, that the U.S. has sent inquiries to Beijing about the pending visit.
