The Norwegian government has denied permission to Germany's Thyssenkrupp
Marine Systems to test its Dolphin-class submarines ordered by Israel.
Under
the order, Thyssenkrupp could not enter Norwegian waters or docks with the
two Type 209 submarines built for the Israel Navy.

"Norway has the strictest regulations possible on the export of goods
and services in the defense field," Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr
Store said. "And this means that we do not export materials or services to
countries where there is war, or a threat of war."
Since 1997, Thyssenkrupp has been leasing a former Norwegian naval base
near Kristiansand. The base was used to help test newly-built underwater
platforms for several Middle East clients, including Egypt and Turkey.
