Expert: China employing a finlandization strategy over the Western Pacific
A private defense specialist stated last week that China is pursuing a “Finlandization” strategy in the Pacific, a reference to Soviet control over neighboring Finland during the Cold War.
Andrew F. Krepinevich, president of the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, an authoritative think tank, stated that the reason the U.S. sought military superiority over the Soviet Union was to prevent allies from falling under Moscow’s control.
