Unpersuaded by U.S. 'soft diplomacy', China backs N. Korea on torpedo incident
China's communist government made it clear recently that it will not side with the United States and South Korea and instead is supporting its fraternal communist ally in North Korea over the torpedo attack on the South Korean corvette Cheonan.
