A former hostage held in captivity by FARC terrorists in Colombia said last week that ChinaÕs state-run oil company was involved in providing logistical support to the terrorist organization.

According to the SpainÕs EFE news service, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) helicopters visited FARC camps in Colombia on seven occasions to provide the Marxist-Leninist terrorist group with logistical and medical support.

The former hostage Oscar Tulio Lizcano escaped from the guerrillas last October told and told EFE July 15 that the Chinese helicopters were involved in oil in northwestern Colombia.

Lizcano, a former senator, was kidnapped on Aug. 5 2000, from his hometown of Riosucio, in the northwestern province of Caldas, and escaped after eight years in captivity.

The Chinese helicopters would transport "doctors, medicine, provisions, and even guerrillas," as well as peasants and mayors in that region, Lizcano said.

The seven flights occurred beginning in 2006.

"I don't understand why the country hasn't reacted ... I investigated not only the (demobilized rebels) who received (assistance) from that Chinese multinational but also those who were transported in those helicopters," he said.
