SEOUL Ñ The North Korean capital Pyongyang has been shut tight for over two weeks since Sept. 15 in an extraordinary security lockdown before the second-ever North-South summit, according to dispatches by the South Korean advance team and other sources.
ÒPyongyang is now an island,Ó said an intelligence source in Seoul Òthe entire security forces in the country have been mobilized to block all the roads and transportation into Pyongyang.Ó
The sources said until the day President Roh leaves Pyongyang on Oct. 5, only trains will be permitted to enter Pyongyang.
