ABU DHABI — A U.S. energy major is favored for a
tender
to execute an oil project in Bahrain.
Occidental has been deemed the frontrunner in a tender to upgrade
an onshore oil field in Bahrain, Middle East Newsline reported.
Officials said Occidental, already awarded
an offshore energy exploration contract, was listed the leading firm among
four
finalists in the project to overhaul the Awali field, with production of
35,000 barrels per day.
"We have ranked them and Occidental is number one," Bahraini Energy
Minister Abdul Hussein Mirza said.
