LONDON — Israel will train elite combat forces in India, according to the terms of a recent agreement.
Officials said Israel would send instructors to India
to provide training in counter-insurgency as well as jungle and urban warfare to Indians special forces.
"This will significantly increase cooperation between our two
militaries," an official said.
The agreement was detailed during a visit by Israeli Gen. Avi Mizrahi to
India, Middle East Newsline reported. Mizrahi, head of the Israel Ground Forces Command and who ended his
visit on Sept. 11, was hosted by Indian Army commander Gen. Deepak Kapoor.
