Israel sets up kill zone near Gaza after attacks, tunneling
TEL AVIV — Israel's military has established a lethal zone as pressure mounts along the
border with the Gaza Strip.
Military sources said Southern Command has set up a 300-meter lethal
zone in the eastern Gaza Strip, Middle East Newsline reported. They said any unauthorized Palestinian found
in the zone would be shot by Israeli troops.
"Any fire must be approved by a senior commander, but this defines the
parameters of our response," a military source said.
[On Nov. 16, the Israel Air Force killed four Palestinian operatives in
the Gaza Strip. The Hamas regime responded with missile and mortar fire
on Israeli civilian targets. One Israeli was reportedly injured.]
