U.S., Israeli fighters in dogfights, bombing runs as part of exercise
TEL AVIV — Israel and the United States are conducting an air force
exercise.
F-16 multi-role fighters from Israel and the United States have been
conducting mock dogfights and bombing runs in the southern Negev desert. The
exercise by the two air forces began on June 10 and would last a week, Middle East Newsline reported.
"The exercise was part of a multi-year working plan involving joint
flights for the purpose of mutual learning and would be held annually," the
military said in a statement.

The Israeli military said dozens of F-16s and F-15s were participating
in the air force exercise. A military statement said the two forces were
divided into red and blue and were conducting a range of scenarios.
The air force exercise has been conducted annually. Military sources
said the current exercise underwent nearly two years of planning and was not
connected to recent developments in the Middle East.
