Iran plans to study the feasibility of a natural gas
pipeline to China.
Iranian officials said Teheran would explore the requirements in
extending the 2,600-kilometer pipeline from Iran to India to China. They
said the issue was discussed during the visit of an Indian delegation to
Iran.
China has sought to become a major client of Iranian liquefied natural
gas. Iran is already a major supplier of oil to China.
India has been negotiating with Iran for a long-term LNG supply
contract. The two sides remain apart on price.
