An announcement to World Tribune.com readers

SPECIAL TO WORLD TRIBUNE.COM
Friday, September 5, 2003

World Tribune.com is pleased to announce, today, the launch of a twice-a-week news service called East-Asia-Intel.com.

When WorldTribune.com started publication in December, 1998, this daily international news site planned to focus its coverage on the Middle East and the Far East. The Middle East is where news began, thousands of years ago. But it is in Northeast Asia where ancient and rapidly-modernizing cultures have become the focal point of the world's economy, leading some to refer to the twenty-first century as the Pacific Era.

During our first years online we discovered an interesting fact: There are few Western correspondent left in East Asia who are qualified and experienced in the coverage of the geopolitics of the region. Why is that? You can read some of what we learned at East-Asia-Intel.com.

At any rate, following the formal end of the Iraq War this spring, we set out to find a few good newspaper people in China, Japan, Taiwan and the Koreas.

The result of this effort can be seen today at East-Asia-Intel.com.

This news service will supplement the fine reporting already published by World Tribune.com and Geostrategy-Direct.com, increasing their scope, depth and overall value.

Our focus has always and will continue to be on exclusive news that, unlike some Internet news sites, is written and edited by newspaper professionals. Beginning today, we are happy to be able to offer our readers an improved news package. Although East-Asia-Intel.com is being marketed primarily to companies, agencies and organizations, subscribers to the World Tribune.com e-mail headline alerts and to Geostrategy-Direct.com will in the near future be offered special individual subscription rates.

Thank you for your interest and support.
