Where’s the curiosity? FBI balks on answers about motivation, training behind assassination attempt

Is it not the job of the FBI and news professionals to ask questions?

Two months after the attempted assassination of a former U.S. president and Republican candidate in the upcoming election, it’s not only the nation’s leading media organizations and the ABC moderators of the Sept. 10 debate that appear to be uninterested in what happened.

The FBI is stonewalling congressional investigators on information relating to Thomas Matthew Crooks’ motivation in his attempt to assassinate former President Donald Trump and the training the 20-year-old gunman likely received, Florida Republican Rep. Michael Waltz said.

The subject was not raised once in Tuesday’s debate, and it was left to the normally reticent Melania Trump to say publicly earlier this week that “the silence around it feels heavy.”

“Clearly he was training, he was preparing. What we can’t get a straight answer from the FBI on is, you know he built three IEDs with remote detonators, but what we can’t get a straight answer is, what radicalized him? What drove the motives?” Waltz said during an interview with Fox News (see below).

Members of Congress continue to demand answers from the FBI and Secret Service eight weeks after Crooks attempted to assassinate Trump during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

In his attempt to kill Trump, who was shot through the ear, Crooks murdered 50-year-old Corey Comperatore and severely wounded former Marine David Dutch and James Copenhaver, who have since been released from hospitals.

The explosive devices found in the trunk of Crooks’ car included a receiver enabling remote detonation that authorities said was set in the “off” position. The FBI previously claimed the devices had “several problems with the way they were constructed.”

The FBI in August released images showing that Crooks broke down the semi-automatic DPMS DR-15 rifle he used into two pieces and stowed it in a black SwissGear backpack as he made his way through the rally crowd.

WorldTribune.com reported earlier this week that former First Lady Melania Trump questioned the judgement of law enforcement on J13 and asked a number of questions about why Crooks was able to get his shots off in the first place.
