As the 6th largest arms export country in the world, Ukraine has counted China as its top customer for the past two decades.

On March 25, a Russian-designed Il-78 aerial refueling tanker plane conducted a final test flight after a major upgrade before being delivered by Ukraine to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s Air Force [PLAAF].
This is one of three Il-78 super tankers the PLAAF ordered from Ukraine in December 2011 and scheduled for delivery this month.
The Il-78 tanker planes will significantly enlarge the Chinese air force’s strategic outreach.
