JERUSALEM — Israel has warned of another Hizbullah abduction plot.

The government has alerted Israelis of the prospect of Hizbullah
abduction operations over the next month.

A statement by the Counter-Terrorism Bureau said Israeli tourists could be targeted during the Passover holiday in April 2013.

“Any Israeli outside of the country is marked as a potential target, and
civilian targets are undefended,” the bureau, part of the National Security Council, said. “As a result, they are easy targets for terror attacks.”

On March 6, the bureau issued a travel advisory that the
Iranian-sponsored Hizbullah has been trying to abduct Israelis and Jews
since 2011. The advisory said Hizbullah was being aided by Iran.

“The warnings come after longstanding global campaigns by Iran and
Hizbullah, which in the last two years have made great efforts to carry out attacks outside the country against Israeli and Jewish targets,” the
advisory said.

In July 2012, five Israelis were killed in a bombing in Bulgaria. Israel
has accused Hizbullah of planning the attack and several suspects were
identified.

The bureau listed 33 countries banned to Israelis, including most Arab
League states as well as much of Africa. Officials also urged Israelis to
postpone travel to Turkey.

“These types of notices disrupted more than once plans of enemies to
cancel terror activity in the places they were issued,” the bureau said.
