Israeli military sources said the Air Force has been bombing underground
facilities believed to contain UAV production. They said Hamas and the
Iranian-sponsored Islamic Jihad were involved in the procurement and
production of tactical UAVs.

“They are in the advanced stages of development and had been preparing
for flight tests,” a military source said.

The sources said the UAVs, one of them identified as Ababil, were
believed to have been designed by Iran. Ababil was supplied to Hizbullah by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and used in the 2006 war in
Lebanon.

UAV production in the Gaza Strip is said to have begun a year ago in
wake of the arrival of the first Iranian-origin platforms.

The sources said Hamas and Jihad assembly was overseen by those trained by IRGC in Iran and Lebanon.
