An anti-Israel coalition will again attempt to break Israel’s naval blockade of the Gaza Strip, this time with a “Women’s Boat to Gaza”.
The Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), which has been behind previous attempts to breach the blockade on Gaza, will launch the Women’s Boat to Gaza (WBG) in mid-September.
The WBG plans to dock at a number of Mediterranean ports along its route and arrive in Gaza on Oct. 1.
The FFC, in a statement, said the flotilla will carry notable women from all over the world to highlight “the undeniable contributions which have been made by Palestinian women to the resistance movement.”
Israel instituted the blockade on Gaza to prevent weapons shipments from reaching Hamas terrorists. The United Nations has said the blockade is completely legal.
The FFC is the same anti-Israel group behind “Freedom Flotilla 3”, which sailed last year and included former Tunisian president Moncef Marzouki, and the 2010 Mavi Marmara flotilla.
The Mavi Marmara incident made international headlines when the ships taking part refused to stop and were boarded by IDF soldiers who were assaulted by “humanitarian” activists wielding knives, iron bars and other lethal weapons.
The soldiers were forced to open fire to save their lives, killing 10 of the terrorists on board. Israel found the flotilla was not carrying any “humanitarian aid,” as the FFC had insisted.
