Libyan rebel representatives said Qatar would help export up to 300,000 barrels of oil per day found in their territory. They said Qatar would help the rebels access the oil revenues through an escrow account.

"We contacted the oil company of Qatar and they agreed to take all the oil we export and market that oil for us," Libyan rebel representative Ali Tarhoni said.

Tarhoni said Libyan rebels were already overseeing the production of up to 130,000 barrels of oil per day. Qatar has recognized the Libyan National Council as representing Libya but did not confirm the oil deal.
