Industry sources said the East Mediterranean Gas Co. would file at
least three lawsuits against the Egyptian government.
They said the
complaints would charge the military regime in Cairo with negligence in
allowing six bombings of the pipeline in the Sinai Peninsula in 2011.

"There are clauses in which the Egyptian government promised to protect
the pipeline and respond adequately to all threats," a source said.
The sources said one suit would be filed by EMG shareholders. The other
two would stem from the company itself against Egyptian state-owned firms,
including the Egyptian Petroleum Authority and the Egyptian Natural Gas
Holding Co., for suspending gas supplies.
