Officials said Bedouin gunmen have stormed SSI facilities in several
towns in Sinai this month. They said the attackers sought to free their
relatives as well as seize security documents.
"The offices have been evacuated," an official said.

The Bedouins were said to have targeted SSI facilities in such Sinai
towns as El Arish and Sharm e-Sheik. Officials said the Bedouins have sought
to exploit the decline in security forces in Sinai in wake of the ouster of
President Hosni Mubarak in February.
Officials said the Bedouins have sought to join the protest movement
against SSI, which led the crackdown on anti-regime demonstrations. They
said SSI facilities in Alexandria, Cairo, Dakahlia, Fayoum and Qena have
already been attacked.
Over the last month, Bedouins have struck police and security
facilities in eastern Sinai. Officials said the Bedouins have been supported
by Palestinian militias from the neighboring Gaza Strip.
