The good news from North Korea is that the health of "Dear Leader" Kim Jong-Il, who suffered a serious heart ailment in 2008, has improved notably. The DPRK's outburst of irrationality last year — including the sinking of a South Korean vessel and the shelling of the island of Yeonpyeong — had at least partly to do with the 69-year-old Kim's desperate maneuvers to ensure a smooth succession in favor of his heir-apparent, third son Kim Jong-Un.
