Iran leaned on Iraq's Maliki for a $10 billion bailout to Assad regime

LONDON — Iran is said to have pressured Iraq to sign agreements to help the neighboring regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad. Iraqi government sources said Teheran pressed Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki to sign an energy agreement that would result in at least $10 billion in revenues for the Assad regime.
