Israeli intelligence: Assad's fall in Syria would be heavy blow to Iran

TEL AVIV — Israel has assessed that the fall of the Syrian President Bashar Assad could jeopardize Iranian interests in the Levant. Israel's former Mossad director Meir Dagan said Assad could be replaced by a Sunni Muslim government that would reduce or cut ties with Iran.
