30 of Turkey's 300 generals have been arrested on coup plot charges

ANKARA — A leading Turkish military commander has resigned under scandal. Gen. Mehmet Erdogan has resigned amid allegations of improprieties. Erdogan, director of air force intelligence, was said to have submitted his resignation in April, a move reported by Turkey's Hurriyet daily on June 6.
