Netanyahu bolsters NSC for alternative to military's perspective

JERUSALEM — A former intelligence officer has been selected as Israel's next national security council chief. Officials said Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has selected a former intelligence commander to chair the National Security Council. They identified the nominee as [Ret.] Maj. Gen. Yaakov Amidror, regarded as one of the leading strategists in Israel.
