Gates defends F-22 call, cites AirSea battle concept for China conflict
Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates, who has sharply cut U.S. weapons purchases, defended his actions in a speech to the U.S. Air Force Academy last week.
Gates told a gathering of academy students that his cuts, including aircraft, armored vehicles and other weapons systems was misunderstood by critics.
