Damascus conducting all-out lobbying effort in Washington
LONDON — The regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad has been busy lobbying Congress and the U.S. government.
A State Department cable reported that Syrian diplomats were pressing Congress and the administration of President Barack Obama to improve relations with Washington. The cable identified a key player in the Syrian effort as the nation's ambassador, Imad Mustafa.
