Report on new N. Korea missile lines backs Gates' warning of 'direct threat' to U.S.
South Korean news media reported Aug. 19 that North Korea is expanding its long-range missile facilities.
The assessment was based on commercial satellite photos that revealed four new assembly plants were built at a missile production complex in North Korea's Pyeongannam Province, where the Taepodong-2 long-range ballistic missile is believed to have been assembled.
