Iran's IRGC played decisive role in Syria's military-intelligence shuffle
LONDON — Iran has tightened its hold over the military of its leading ally Syria.
Syrian opposition sources said the mullah regime in Teheran played a leading role in the recent reshuffle of the Syrian military. They said Iranian leaders, particularly those of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, helped determine the commanders of the Syrian military appointed by President Bashar Assad in September.
