Iran's new SAM system identified as knockoff of China's HQ-9
LONDON — Iran's new long-range air defense system has been identified as a Chinese-origin platform developed more than 20 years ago. Western intelligence sources said Iran's Mersad long-range air defense system was deemed to be China's HQ-9.
