Abe issues unusually blunt warning on China's pursuit of hegemony, 'Finlandization'
Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said in a speech last month that China is seeking a Nazi Germany-style hegemony over Asia as well as the Soviet-era concept of "Finlandization," a reference to Finland's fears of the Soviet Union that led that nation's government to subordinate its interests to the Soviet Union.
The comments were unusually strong for a former high-ranking Japanese officials.
