Rise of Xi Jinping bodes well for the PLA and the 'Gang of Princelings'
Vice-President Xi Jinping's appointment as Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Central Military Commission (CMC) has confirmed his status as heir apparent to supremo Hu Jintao.
Xi's gaining his concurrent military appointment was a major result of the annual plenary session of the CCP Central Committee, which closed in Beijing on Oct. 18.
