A senior Chinese military official last week accused the United States of launching a new military space race with the test flight of the X-37B space plane in April. Li Daguang, a senior military space specialist at China’s National Defense University, stated in a June 22 report in the PLA Daily that Li said the Air Force X-37B is a top-secret development program and appears to be a miniature version of the space shuttle.
