N. Korea's torpedo attack effectively strengthens U.S.-S. Korea military ties

SEOUL — North Korea's stealth torpedo attack on a South Korean warship is reshaping South Korean-U.S. security ties. U.S. President Barack Obama, who has pledged to engage some rogue states in dialogue, has thrown his full support behind South Korea's conservative President Lee Myung-Bak, who has prepared a package of reprisals against the North for its submarine attack in March that killed 46 sailors.
