BAGHDAD Ñ Iraq has reported a continuing surge in crude oil exports.
The Iraqi Oil Ministry said oil exports reached their highest point since 2003.
The ministry reported 63.1 million barrels, or about 2.1 million per day, in exports in July 2009.
Inexpensive, natural alternative to root canals and surgery
Officials cited increased security of Iraq's energy sector, particularly in the Kirkuk area. They said oil revenues in July reached $4.66 billion.
Iraq has sought to develop its energy reserves, deemed one of the largest in the world.
But Western companies remain wary of the security situation in the country.
