New Hizbullah group claims credit for latest missiles fired from Gaza
GAZA CITY Ñ A faction of the Iranian-sponsored Hizbullah has claimed
responsibility for missile attacks against Israel.
A Palestinian militia termed Hizbullah Battalions-Palestine said it had fired missile strikes from the Gaza Strip. On March 5,
the group said it fired two missiles into Israel's western Negev desert, Middle East Newsline reported.
"This is part of the campaign, 'We redeem you Jerusalem,'" Hizbullah
Battalions-Palestine said.
Palestinian sources said they have never heard of Hizbullah
Battalions-Palestine.

The sources said the group could be a front for
Islamic Jihad, four of whose operatives were killed in Israeli air strikes
within 24 hours in early March.
In its statement, Hizbullah Battalions-Palestine said it launched the
so-called Radwan missile. No details were given of the weapon.
Palestinian sources said the Hamas regime and Jihad bolstered their
coordination with Hizbullah and Iran over the last year. They said at least
50 Iranians were believed to be helping Hamas's military and security
forces in the Gaza Strip.
