Chechen war, cont'd: Another assassination in the United Arab Emirates
ABU DHABI Ñ The United Arab Emirates has been the setting of the
assassination of another Russian national.
Officials said a Russian executive was killed in the UAE city of Sharjah
on April 10. They said Yevgeny Kaprov, 51, was found dead in his car from
apparent head injuries.
"This was a premediated murder," an official said.
This marked the second assassination of a Russian national in less than
two weeks. On March 28, a Chechen exile and war veteran, Sulim Yamadayev,
was killed in the parking lot of his beach residence in the UAE city of
Dubai.

Dubai police have identified a Russian parliamentarian as the
mastermind of the killing and has asked Moscow for his extradition.
Officials said authorities have identified five suspects in the killing
of Kaprov. Kaprov was the owner of an air cargo company and resident of
Sharjah, the third largest city in the UAE.
The UAE has expressed concern that it has become a battleground for
Russia. The emirates contains a large Russian expatriate community,
including Chechen exiles.
