NICOSIA — Iran has offered an energy partnership to Switzerland.
Iranian acting Oil Minister Gholamhossein Nozari said Switzerland could
be a partner in the development of crude oil and natural gas in Iran. Nozari
issued the assessment during a meeting with Swiss Energy Minister Moritz
Leuenberger on Sept. 14, Middle East Newsline reported.
"Iran holds 16 percent of the world's gas reserves and is ready to
cooperate with Switzerland," Nozari said.

The Swiss company EGL has been negotiating for a stake in Iran's energy
sector. Despite U.S. disapproval, Switzerland has expressed the need for
Iranian oil and gas.
