In our July 31 article, "Cyber-war? U.S. defense sites invaded by young hackers, not Iraqis," the U.S.
official who discussed an investigation into alleged Iraqi cyberattacks on
the Pentagon was Michael Vatis, director of the FBI's National
Infrastructure Protection Center. The remarks were incorrectly attributed to
another U.S. official who testified in the July 26 hearing of the House
Subcommittee on Government Management, Information, and Technology. We
apologize for the error.
