Dealing with drug dealers, Saudi-style

NICOSIA [MENL] -- Saudi Arabia has beheaded a convicted drug trafficker.

The Interior Ministry said Salem Ahmed Mishali, an Iraqi national, was executed on Friday in the eastern portion of the kingdom. The ministry said he was convicted of smuggling hashish.

So far, the kingdom has beheaded 43 people this year. Last year, at least 100 people were executed.

Drug trafficking is an offense punishable by execution in Saudi Arabia.
