Construction begins on Black Sea pipeline between Russia and Turkey

MOSCOW [MENL] -- Construction has begun on the Blue Stream pipeline, which
will transfer natural gas from Russia to Turkey under the Black Sea.
The project got underway on Monday when was started the Italian ENI
company started the construction of the under-water section of the project.
The French Bouygues company, Katran-K and Japanese Mitsui, Sumitomo and
Itochu companies are also contracted for the project.
The Russian natural gas will be transferred from the Zapolyarnoye and
Beregovoye regions of Russia to the Izoblynoye region. Later, the natural
gas will reach Samsun, Turkey, through the pipelines constructed under the
Black Sea.
