    Assad Homayoun

    Assad Homayoun is a Senior Fellow of the International Strategic Studies Association. He was in charge of Political Affairs of the Iranian Embassy in Washington, D.C. for 12 years until Ruhollah Khomeini seized control in Iran.

    Following the revolution led by Khomeini, Dr. Homayoun obtained a Ph.D. in international relations from George Washington University. He has written articles on international, Middle Eastern and Iranian affairs for "Defense and Foreign Affairs," "Strategic Policy," "Global Affairs," "The Washington Times" and the "New York City Tribune."

    He has served as an early supporter and contributing editor of World Tribune.com. Dr. Homayoun maintains contacts in Iran and heads the Azadegan Foundation which favors a secular government in Iran.
