Iran preparing retaliatory saturation missile strike on Israeli cities, sites

WASHINGTON — A leading Israeli analyst asserted that Teheran was preparing a massive retaliation for any Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
Uzi Rubin, the founder of the Israel Missile Defense Organization, said Teheran would direct missile and rocket fire from the Gaza Strip, Iran, Lebanon and Syria.
“In Israel, no place is safe,” Rubin told a U.S. military conference on Aug. 16. “Israel’s main assets can be taken out. This is the new reality.”
Rubin, today a leading missile defense consultant, told the Marine Corps University in Quantico, Va. that Teheran has developed a so-called stand-off doctrine in any war with Israel.
He said this would focus on saturated missile and rocket fire aimed at Israel’s cities as well as strategic sites.
